Students raise over £1,200 in fundraising project
Year 12 BTS business students have completed a project to raise money for Katharine House Hospice.
Their fundraising activities were brought to a close with a final event called “Techno Night at the Races”, organised by students with help from Business Teacher, Steph McNeil.
Parents, staff, employer partners and other members of the public were invited to the event, which offered cheese and wine, a cash bar, an organised “night at the races”, a raffle and virtual reality equipment to try. The event was held in the top floor of the BTS building.

It also has a focus on building friendships through teamwork, which is highly valuable for students entering the sixth form.

Business students experience real-world example of retail distribution
John Nicholls very kindly offered students the chance to have a look around their warehouse, picking shop and show room, exposing them to the business and giving a valuable insight into how it works. Managers and Supervisors were on hand to demonstrate the various processes involved in their line of work and to answer the students’ questions.
